If you've watched the show you know what I mean. Suddenly you are like, 3 tier sponge cake with decorations that look like some other kind of food, sure I got this!! In my defense the cake tasted good, but it didn't look like the green apple I was going for, it was more like the Blob from that old movie. Luckily, I moved on... to the the yule log. Now, that I can bake. I like to sprinkle crushed peppermint inside the layers of whipped cream that creates the beautiful spiral in this sponge cake. I also roll the log differently than most people because I like the idea of the shorter fatter yule log than the ones you see often. I might try to do one like the recent episode where it stands up instead. I will let you know how it goes after the holidays.
Just realized i never added the recipe. I will have to fix that.
